Ryan Seacrest Signs On to Host 'American Idol' for Two More Years

FOX announced on Monday, April 23 that the radio personality has inked a new deal, reportedly worth $15 million a year, to continue his hosting gig on the reality singing competition.

"Ryan has been with AMERICAN IDOL from the very first day. I can't imagine the show without him," the show's creator and executive producer Simon Fuller stated in a press release. "He is the consummate host and an exemplary professional. Having Ryan continue to be a part of the AMERICAN IDOL family is great news for everyone."

Seacrest himself is "excited" to continue his journey with "American Idol" which he has hosted for 11 years. "The legions of fans, amazingly talented contestants, judges, and producers, along with the hard working IDOL crew, impress me every time we go on air and make hosting the show a dream job," the host of "E! News" added.

"I especially appreciate the support and confidence of Peter Rice, Mike Darnell and the entire FOX team - as well as the support of everyone at FremantleMedia North America - and I look forward to continuing our partnership."

Seacrest has a separate deal with NBC Universal, which is close to be finalized as well. The deal includes the already announced role as part of NBC team for Olympic games coverage in London this summer.
