Katy Perry has gotten rid of the New York City apartment that she bought before marrying Russell Brand. The "Teenage Dream" hitmaker just sold the 1,500-square-foot TriBeCa duplex penthouse, which was supposed to be her first marital home with the "Rock of Ages" actor, for $2.75 million, the New York Post reported.
The duplex, which is located on North Moore Street, boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cherry wood staircase and a south-facing terrace with sweeping city views. It was purchased by 27-year-old Perry back in September 2010, one month before she exchanged wedding vows with 36-year-old Brand in India.
Perry and Brand tied the knot at a resort inside a tiger reserve in India in October 2010. After weeks of speculations, Brand filed for divorce in December 2011, blaming "irreconcilable differences" for the split. The estranged couple reached agreement over their property issues in February 2012, and had a Los Angeles judge granted them divorce a day after. They will legally become single again in July.
Perry herself might have found a new man in her life following the split. On April 22, the "Part of Me" singer was caught on camera passionately kissing Florence and the Machine's guitarist Robert Ackroyd while at 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The two were also spotted together at the event a week earlier during which Perry reportedly referred to Ackroyd as her boyfriend.
